PC Falmir : AMD 64 3500+ (2,2 Ghz)

3DMark 2005 score : 5136

This bench is much more difficult than its predecessor.

The first three scenes are progressively more and more difficult, and it shows. Whereas I easily attained 200 frames in the first scene (B17s attacked by Messerschmits), I was at great difficulty to get 20 frames in the (third) Troll's Lair scene.
Of note : installing version 4.11 of Catalyst drivers boosted the score by 200 points.

Which basically means that next year I'll be blowing another wad of cash. Oh bother.

Aquamark score : 60933

The usual. Simply blows through like a hot knife through warm butter.

Codecreatures score : 78.9 fps average

Codecreatures is no longer a difficult benchmark.

The full table is here :

Total
Avg fps 78.9
Max fps 120.0
Avg polys/s 27.7 mio
Max polys/s 41.3 mio
Total frames 10 366

With these results, I can only hope that BF2 will be able to run a 64-bot dedicated server.

Conclusion

Well, what can I say ? Performance is not bad, by any account. All the games I used to play on Falmir will run a bit better - but the real test will be the BF2 dedicated server. It has to run 64 bots, otherwise this whole thing will have been for nothing.
