Voodoo 3 - 1999

Tech Sheet

Obviously, the following that 3dfx had created could simply not believe that the next generation wouldn't be the new king. I myself, after having used my V2 for hundreds of hours, trusted 3dfx to bring out an even better, even stronger product. But the V3 was not the miracle everyone was waiting for. Oh sure, it sold well - very well even. You can still see some boxes out there - the upgrade market is not entirely dead. But the press and techno-geeks just could not get over the feeling that the V3 was just an enhanced V2 core with some glitz.
